Danny Gonzalez, owner of Fitzgerald, welcomes his guests with great enthusiasm for hospitality. A relaxed and comfortable stay, in an international setting is central here. In addition, he is a true wine lover and you can see that in Fitzgerald.

With a background as a sommelier and experience in wine import, Danny made the Wereldmuseum the Wine Restaurant of the Year in 2013 and pushed it to the top of Dutch gastronomy. Gault&Millau crowned him as 'Host of the year 2012'.

In Fitzgerald he takes it one step further and that has resulted in the exceptional wine selection that is on offer, with more than 3000 listings from around the world and in all styles. In 2018, Fitzgerald was crowned 'Restaurant of the Year' by the restaurant guide 'Grootspraak'. In 2021 Fitzgerald was awarded the Grand Prix winner for 'Best overall Wine List' in The Netherlands' by Star Wine List. Moreover it also won 'Best Wine List of the year' 2022 from Gault&Millau'. Wine Spectator has awarded Fitzgerald the 'Best of Award of Excellence' from 2018 onwards. Danny is proud of this appreciation and sees as a positive stimulation to continue working on the development of the wine program.
